Cycling has one of the biggest psychological aspects of any sport. This programme will help you to utilise self-monitoring, planning, and observation to develop skills and build them into your own cycling performance.
This section will look at the Rating of Perceived Exertion ( RPE) Scale as well as introducing questions to consider pre and post training to help you get the most benefit every time you jump on your bike.
Training and recovery are linked closely, and the recovery phase is where most benefits accrue. If we get our recovery right then our body can re-cooperate and super-compensate from our training.
In this section, we will look into developing your own set of "traffic light" warning signs which can help you determine if you are in the physical, mental, and emotional state to push hard, ease off, or recover.
This session will provide focus on what your training is all about because doing well in events does not just happen by accident. The learnings can be applied to sportives, events, or any big rides you have planned.

This session will look at bringing together all that you have learned, the physical preparation, the planning, and the rehearsals you have gone through to see how you can perform optimally in a pressured environment.

Getting competition focus can be hard in cycling which means you have to work extra hard to be able to achieve it. There are important things you can do to make this happen and this section will take a look at these different factors.
We have very limited capacity in terms of how much we can attend to at any given time. This section will look at the planning we have done in previous sessions and new ways to free up capacity.
Understanding your motivation and making it a key part of your kit bag is very useful for any athlete. You want to ensure your motivation is working for you and we will cover this in this session.
As cyclists, it is important to build your self-belief and this session will look at how we can develop and grow this to help improve your performance on the bike.
