Welcome to Njinga Zwift Racing
Enjoyment. Fitness. Community.
We’re a friendly group of Zwifters in the UK who’ve been racing together on the Zwift platform since the pandemic. We now have friends from all over the world. Riders of all different levels and backgrounds with one thing in common: we love riding!
Our philosophy is simple: enjoyment and fitness through racing. We’ve built a warm and supportive community that competes in the WTRL ZRL and other events – always cheering each other on, whether you’re chasing wins or just having fun.
We may not be the biggest squad, but we regularly punch above our weight. Last season (2024–2025) was our best yet – our Njati Cat C team won the prestigious ZRL Kit in the grand finale!
We’re looking for more riders from all backgrounds, cultures, and abilities to join us.
Let’s ride!
Our heritage
Njinga (that’s N-jing-gah) means “bicycle” in Malawi – it’s a nod to our founders’ African roots and a celebration of cycling’s global reach and the connections our sport creates across cultures.
Njinga Zwift Racing was born from a group of riders united by the desire to be better on the bike – whether starting from scratch, returning to cycling later in life, or aiming for peak performance.
Our “centre of gravity” is Njinga Cycling, where we provide structured cycling coaching for riders over 35 who are looking to ride stronger and injury-free.

Racing with Njinga
When: During WTRL season, we usually race in the EMEA Western & Northern division on Tuesday evenings. We also join other competitions on different evenings depending on demand – and if enough riders want a certain time, we’ll make it happen.
Categories: Currently B and C pace categories, with plans to grow our D and women’s teams. We’ve also fielded Cat A riders in the past.
Who’s welcome: Everyone! We love growing our community with riders of all genders, backgrounds, and experience levels – from first-timers to seasoned racers – with support, encouragement, and a good dose of fun.

Our commitment to you
We’re here to make sure every rider feels supported, respected, and encouraged. Whether you’re chasing podiums, training for fitness, or just curious about trying your first race, you’ll find a safe, welcoming environment at Njinga.
Interested?
If this sounds like your kind of team, we’d love to hear from you.

What our Njinga Zwifters are saying
“I started riding with Njinga in 2020 during Covid lockdowns. I live near Stockport but my local club didn’t get into the whole virtual thing. One of my mates had ridden and trained with Njinga IRL for a really long time and they quickly pivoted to virtual – training together and racing on Zwift. I did some of the training but mostly the racing on Zwift became a fixture in my diary – Tuesday night is race night!
The club is so welcoming, even though I didn’t meet anyone in person until one of the Ride London events a couple of years ago. That doesn’t matter, they are extremely active on WhatsApp groups and Discord. Gav, Matt, Ali, Tony, thanks a million for making me feel so welcome and doing all the hard work to keep the race teams running.
Personal fave is the ladder race series, love that, super tactical and you actually have to work as a team. ZRL is also fabulous, but a much bigger race series so it’s pretty much every man / woman for themselves, a different sort of pain.”
– Adam Dobson
“Being part of Njinga’s Zwift racing club gives me the chance to race against riders at my level and pace. The support from other team members pushes me to dig deeper and hit new PBs every week.”
– Stefan Nawrocki
