Njinga’s Journey
Looking back, we had no business achieving everything we’ve achieved. But, at Njinga, we’ve always believed that, with a great plan and a great work ethic, anything is possible.
That philosophy has helped thousands of cyclists achieve goals they never dared to dream. And taken Njinga from a small UK cycling community to an internationally respected holistic cycling coaching business.
We’ve come so far… let’s see what’s over the next hill!

The story of Njinga Cycling
Nice to meet you! We’re Togo and Leigh, a husband-and-wife team with a passion for helping ordinary people redefine their definition of what’s possible.
In 2012, we invited a group of friends and contacts to train with us and cycle from England to France. Not one of them was a pro cyclist. But they were game for a challenge.
Well, they smashed it!
Our group of intrepid riders got fitter, healthier, and – most exciting of all – realised they were capable of so much more than they thought they were! One thing was clear: This had to be the start of something bigger. And so, Njinga Cycling Cycling (that’s N-JING-GAH) was born – and named from the Malawian word for “bicycle”, a nod to our African roots.
Instead of a midlife crisis, we had a midlife reinvention. We’re on a mission to prove that nothing is impossible. We’d love to have you along for the ride.

What is Njinga Cycling?
Njinga is a UK-based cycling coaching community supporting riders worldwide. Our proven Njinga 360 Performance Code™ helps you get stronger and faster on the bike — while reducing injury risk and avoiding overtraining.
You’ll achieve this by adapting your training to your age, gender and life stage, and combining three core cycling performance pillars:
Condition your body with structured training plans that fit your goals, schedule and fitness level.
Eat well with nutritional guidance to give your mind and muscles the energy they need.
Build confidence, resilience and positivity with mindset tools designed to keep you consistent.
When it all works together, you start achieving things you never thought you could. Life after 35 never looked so fit and healthy!
More than 3,000 riders have successfully used Njinga to improve their cycling performance, staying on the road and injury-free into their late 30s and beyond.

What we are not
Njinga is not the place for beef, cliques, or bromanship.
We’re a friendly community and welcome all ages, backgrounds, and fitness levels.
But we don’t tolerate:
- Egos: We’re all on our own journeys. Respect that.
- Club politics: If it’s drama you’re after, watch reality TV.
- Beasting: Training is for progress not punishment. Period.
