Training Programme Details

To see significant improvements over the 8 weeks, we will focus on a combination of sub-threshold sweetspot intervals to improve your stamina and endurance and also above-threshold low cadence strength work to improve your leg power & climbing ability.


From 4 hours per week for 8 weeks

  • 2 x 60min immersive on-bike sessions
  •  2 x 15min post ride stretch 
  •  1 x progressive outdoor ride tailored for all RideLondon routes (30, 60, 100 miles)
PLUS: Optional on-bike, off-bike conditioning sessions and essential resources to improve your cycling.


  • Indoor Trainer or Indoor Bike (Essential): Must be able to project speed, power and cadence  
  • Device to download cycling software (Essential): PC, Mac or tablet and a USB ANT+ Receiver or Bluetooth 
  • Outdoor bike (Essential): To complete weekly ride out
  • Heart Rate Monitor (Highly Recommended) 
  • Power Meter (Recommended but not essential): For use on outdoor rides

Frequently Asked Questions

An indoor trainer (All require a road bike to connect; some work with the rear wheel in and others work on a drive train system without rear wheel. Examples include Wahoo Kickr, Tacx Neo, Elite Suito. Alternatively, you can complete the remote programme on an indoor bike that can project cadence and power (same applies for the indoor trainer). Examples include Wattbike Atom, Wattbike Nucleus, Wattbike Trainer and Wahoo Indoor bike, etc.  

You will also need a laptop or tablet to download the remote software, ANT+ receiver, comfortable cycling kit, water bottle, heart rate strap and a sweat towel.

Our 8-week training plan is suitable for riders of all levels interested in improving their power, speed and stamina ready for the RideLondon Sportive. Whether you are just looking to complete the 100 miles or have a specific time in mind this plan will improve your riding.

There will be 2 x 60 minute on bike training sessions each week. We also recommend following the sessions with a 15-minute post session stretch. There are also optional on and off-bike sessions recommended each week and a longer ride outdoors if you have more time available to train. You will also have access to the Njinga Cycling Academy for 100s of hours of on-demand content to improve your cycling even further.

This on-demand training plan for RideLondon is £149 for the Gold Level access. For this price you will also get access to all out other comprehensive training options, meal plans, mindset sessions etc as part of the Academy. If you opt to go for the Platinum pricing option, it will be £199 which includes  2 x 15 minute individual coach calls to really support you in achieving your RideLondon goals.
